The latter question is actually the easiest. There isn’t any real reason you should read my blog. If you’re a geek like me though you may enjoy tales of obscure and/or absurd technology. And every geek I know loves a good argument over the merits of various technologies and software development methodologies.
Appeasing my inner Vorlon and answering the first question, “who are you”, is somewhat more difficult. While my father was indeed a mad scientist in Los Alamos NM I would be inclined to say that, like Doctor Evil, “the details of my life are quite inconsequential.” Like most geeks those details include 8 bit computers, far too much science fiction, and meat helmets.
At the end of the day though in the technology industry you are judged by what you have shipped. These are projects that I have written code for and have actually shipped. Some of them have been used by millions of people. Some of them have been used by hardly anyone. Each one represents far too large a chunk of my life squeezed out over a keyboard and in one way or another I have loved them all.
